Fire sends 7 to hospital, destroys 2 mobile homes

AMARILLO.COM - Seven people were hospitalized and two mobile homes destroyed in a fire Friday in Cactus.
Cactus and Dumas firefighters were dispatched at 4:13 a.m. to 707 Wiebe Ave. When firefighters arrived, a mobile home was fully engulfed, Dumas Fire Capt. Larry Dutcher said.
Conditions deteriorated as the wind picked up and the blaze spread to a neighboring mobile home at 705 Wiebe Ave., Dutcher said. He said that mobile home also was destroyed.
